Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Segun Sowunmi has made it clear that he does not agree with the political approach being deployed by members of the Kwankwasiya movement.
However, he revealed that he had a different view of the movement’s leader, Rabiu Kwankwaso.
In an interview with Channels TV on Sunday, Sowunmi accused the Kwankwasiyya movement of excessive militancy and inciting its supporters.
“I have a different view on respect for Rabiu Kwankwaso, but his excessive militancy is outrageous…Democracy is an ideological conversation, and do young people want to engage in mob fights? “It’s not an incitement to act like this,” he said.
Mr Sowunmi made this suggestion when asked about the possibility of Mr Kwankwaso, Mr Atiku Abubakar or other political godfathers funding his alternative movement.
In denying any such sponsorship, the PDP leader revealed that he is funding the movement and expects members of his team to offer something at some point.
Meanwhile, the Labor Party has announced its decision to initiate legal action to win back the seats of four members who defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The party criticized the members for retaining their seats even after switching allegiance to the ruling party.
The National Communications Secretary of the Labor Party, Obiora Ifor, made this disclosure in an interview with Punch.
His statement came after House of Representatives Speaker Tajudeen Abbas read out the resignations of members of the parliament on Thursday.
