Osun State Governor, Mr. Ademola Adeleke, has called on members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to unite the party in future elections and return it to winning ways.
Governor Adeleke, who spoke at the commissioning ceremony of the PDP South West Secretariat in Ibadan on Saturday, appealed to members of the party to distance themselves from others, forget their grievances and work towards the success of the party.
He urged PDP members to work together to commemorate the late ward deputy chairman, Soji Adagunode, after whom the building was named.
According to the governor, “The significance of today’s event is a clarion call for unity and deeper brotherhood between the PDP at home and abroad. We must forget our divisive past and unite for our dear party. It doesn’t have to be.
“For us, it is better to fight inside the Government House than to fight outside. We must renew our focus on building a strong administrative management system.
“This will enable us to roll out in the run-up to elections, maintain existing states and even expand our reach across the six zones of the federation.
“First, we are opening the party’s main administrative base in the southwest at a very important time in the nation’s life.
“Secondly, the secretariat is named after my late brother, Soji Adagnodo, who was a top political leader and ally of my state before the transition,” he said. pointed out.
The Osun State governor, however, mourned the late Adagunode, expressing that he wished the late PDP leader had been alive to witness the honour.
“Therefore, I feel solemn as our brother is not here to witness the honor of his memorial being accorded. May Almighty God grant him eternal rest. I pray,” he said.
