Neos Airlines, Italy’s flag carrier, will begin operating direct flights from Italy to Lagos, Nigeria on October 30th.
The airline plans to use Boeing 787-800s to operate this route before introducing wide-body aircraft. The airline will start operating once a week for one month, and then increase to three flights a week.
The Nigerian airline Skymaster disclosed this during the launch of the Nigerian airline’s operations at the Marriott Hotel Ikeja with travel agents, regulators, prospective customers and other stakeholders.

According to aviation service provider Skymaster, Neos Airlines will begin regular direct flights to Nigeria on October 30, with one flight per week for the first month, increasing to three flights by the second month of operation. That’s what he said.
Sifax Sahco Travels will also operate as the airline’s official travel agent.
Speaking at the event, Skymaster Managing Director Princewill Ogbonna said the airline’s debut would further strengthen Nigeria-Italy ties.
Ogbonna said Neos Airlines is an Italian commercial airline headquartered in Somma Lombardo, Lombardy.
Ogbonna added that the airline, which currently operates to over 50 destinations around the world, will adjust its operations in Nigeria to better suit groups and associations, following their requests and advice.
“For example, the Christian Association of Nigeria might want to go to Rome, but not stop in Milan. We can arrange a connecting flight so they can go directly to Rome via Milan.”
Mr. Ogbonna highly praised President Bola Tinubu for his aggressive drive to secure investments in Nigeria without bottlenecks.
He said: “First of all, I would like to thank the current administration under President Bola Tinubu. He is a great inspiration. This is the second aircraft carrier to launch direct operations into Nigeria under his watch. It shows how focused the administration is on bringing in foreign direct investment into this country and we are committed to that.Aviation is working tirelessly to ensure that Nigeria is open to foreign investment. It is also important to congratulate the minister.
