The Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Umaru Damagum, on Friday met with Governor Bala Mohammed at the Bauchi state headquarters to discuss pressing issues within the party.
Damagum’s visit comes in the wake of recent turmoil in the PDP, including a factional decision to suspend Damagum and appoint Yayari Mohammed as the new acting national chairman. The meeting aimed to foster dialogue and seek solutions to the internal conflicts currently plaguing the party.
In his remarks, Damagum emphasized the need for unity and cooperation among party members to overcome the challenges ahead.
Governor Muhammad, as Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, reiterated his determination to support Mr. Damagum and work with other governors to restore stability and unity within the party.
Commenting on the outcome of the meeting with the Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, he said: They also came here to support me in reaffirming their commitment that the Northeast, where they come from, is one and that they believe in the leadership of the Chairman of the Governors Forum.
“Today we came for a friendly visit to discuss many things.”
Damagumu likewise warned Nigerians against voting for incompetent leaders in the 2027 general elections.
The beleaguered acting PDP chairman lamented that many Nigerians are suffering because of the policies of the President Bola Tinubu administration.
He said: “Nigerians need to prioritize credibility when choosing their leaders. Those who collected spaghetti and wrapping paper to install the current government feel it more than anyone else. It is.”
