Mr Payne’s sister, Ruth Gibbins, described him as her “best friend” in an emotional Instagram post on Saturday and vowed the family would “take care of Bear.”
“My brain is having a hard time understanding what’s going on and I can’t understand where you’ve gone,” she added.
Cheryl also said her seven-year-old son could have access to “abhorrent reporting and media exploitation” and that she was worried about not being able to protect him from it in the future.
“What worries me the most is that Bear will one day have access to the abhorrent reporting and media exploitation that we have seen over the past two days,” she added.
“I would ask everyone to consider what use some of these reports might serve other than to pick up the pieces and cause further harm to those left behind.
“Before you leave a comment or make a video, ask yourself if you want your children or family members to read it.”
The 41-year-old ended her statement by appealing to people to give Ms Payne “what little dignity she has left so that she can finally rest in peace”.

The tribute came as Jeff Payne paused outside the Casa Sur Hotel to read a eulogy for his son and thank the fans who had gathered.
