Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2024 elections, Atiku Abubakar, has said he is interested in issues that affect Nigerians.
Nigeria’s former Vice President, Mr. Atiku, has accused Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike and his collaborators of playing politics with the sufferings of Nigerians.
Naija News reports that Wike said at an event in Rivers State that Atiku was rejected by Nigerians after he ran as a PDP candidate in the 2019 and 2023 presidential elections and lost. In response, he made this statement.
He said, “We have never stood for local government elections. Did we have a contest? Did we choose a format?” He said, “Oh, they ran me in Rivers State.” “I refused,” he can be heard saying. Well, given that he did not concede but he has lost many times, Nigerians are also rejecting him. ”
Reacting to this in a statement on Saturday, Atiku’s media advisor, Mr. Paul Ibeh, noted that the former vice president has no intention of falling into the gutter where the FCT minister is lounging.
He said that while Wike may be trying to distract with baseless rants, Nigerians must remain focused on the real issues affecting them.
Mr Ibe said it was clear that Mr Wike was more concerned with personal interests than addressing the real challenges facing the nation.
The statement reads: “We have taken note of recent statements by Mr. Nyesom Wike, which can only be described as one of his dramatic outbursts. Normally we would not respond, but the silence is We recognize that we may be misunderstood.
“But we remain calm. Nigerians are well aware of his antics and this is due to the grudge he harbors over his loss to Mr. Wazirin Adamawa in the party’s 2022 presidential primaries.” These are the remaining symptoms.
“Mr. Wike’s comments are nothing more than a series of stupid acts devoid of substance and motivated by personal grievances. If Nigerians are satisfied with the status quo under the government they serve, If he really believes that, it reveals a deeper truth: his priority is himself, not the people. This self-absorption is more important than the responsibility of a minister in internal affairs in Rivers. It is clear from the fact that he is absorbed in
“While he may be trying to divert attention with baseless rants, we remain focused on the real issues affecting Nigerians. In contrast, our focus on people’s welfare and progress remains steadfast.
“Mr. Wike appears to enjoy conjuring up his fantasies, indulging his imagination, paying to be broadcast live on television and launching violent attacks on whoever he likes. But we don’t know who he is. We have no intention of descending into the ditch where others feel at home. Rather, we prefer to maintain our dignity and rise above while others immerse themselves in the mire.”
