Controversial Nigerian comedian, Oluwaseitan Aretaile, also known as Seyi Law, has revealed why he cannot compete with his seniors.
The 41-year-old highlighted his respect for veteran comedians such as Alibaba, Julius Agwu, AY Makun, and Basketmouth on a recent episode of Trend by Hip TV.
According to the veteran comedian, he is more focused on collective success than individual competition, adding, “I don’t want to be one of those people who drags someone down the rankings."
“At one point in the comedy industry, there were no rifts and no reason to start categorizing comedians. I’ve played with everyone and I still respect everyone,” he said.
“We respect companies like Alibaba. At one point, I had to go on a comedy tour with Julius Agwu, who didn't discriminate against me. Covering the Basketmas event He paid me to appear on the show. I also work with AY.
“As Yoruba people, we do not disrespect those who give us food. Therefore, they are all highly respected. I respect them very much. And despite their differences, they They are still seniors in my industry, and they had no reason to compete with me.
“So wherever you put me in the rankings, I’m fine. I don’t want to be the guy who drags down the rankings with anyone in the industry. As long as we’re all doing well, I deserve credit.” Most importantly, we must not allow the industry to suffer.”
