Oluwatimirehin Doko was crowned the winner of the 15th African Scrabble Championship which concluded yesterday in Kigali, Rwanda, as Nigeria maintained its dominance on the continent.
The four-day continental show featured 32 rounds of duels between 10 participating countries: Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Gambia, Mauritius, Zambia, South Africa, Cameroon and Uganda.
At the end of the contest, seven Nigerians were in the top 10 of the championship.

After winning the 2023 West African Scrabble Championship, Doko turned heads and added another feather to his cap, winning with one round remaining and receiving praise from fans.
The 24-year-old had a tough road to victory, starting the round with a 64-point victory over Uganda’s Godwin Murungi, 487-423, and finishing with seven wins from eight matches by the end of the first day. .
