The Theater Arts and Film Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) has lifted the three-year suspension of controversial Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing after public pleas.
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) has reported that the association has suspended Nkechi Blessing and his colleagues in 2021 after they were both involved in a social media spat over Nollywood actor Baba Ijesha who smeared the adopted daughter of Nigerian comedian Princess. I remember suspending Leger Miami.
Nkechi Blessing stood unperturbed while Miami apologized.
However, in a recent development, the movie star knelt before Tanpan president Bolaji Amusan, better known as Mr. Latin, at the Canadian Celebrity Entertainment Awards and asked for forgiveness for his actions.
In a video that went viral, Blessing acknowledged the huge influence Tanpan had on her career and expressed gratitude and remorse.
“I am deeply sorry for everything I have done. I am sorry. I ask for your forgiveness. I am grateful to the industry. If I had, I wouldn’t have been anything,” the 35-year-old said in the now-viral video.
Reacting to this, senior actresses Amusan and Odunlade Adekola took to the stage to embrace blessings. Mr Adekola praised Mr Blessing for admitting his mistake.
Ms Amsan welcomed Ms Blessing back to the association and praised her “courage” in an Instagram post.
“I admire and applaud your courage…Welcome on board!!!,” he wrote.
