Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for running an inclusive government that enhances the unity and stability of the country.
Mr Omokri said in a statement yesterday that contrary to some views, Mr Tinubu’s recent appointment reflects the principle of federal character enshrined in the 1999 amended constitution.
Northern groups Northern Elders Forum and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar recently criticized the president’s recent appointments as biased.
Mr. Omokri, however, dismissed this claim as false, explaining that available records show that Mr. Tinubu’s appointment complied with constitutional provisions on federal character.
“Both the appointments of security chiefs and ministers complied with the provisions of the Federal Personality Principle in the Constitution,” he said, adding that “the mischief makers took the new appointments out of context.”
“In a desperate attempt to provoke a military coup, which is their ultimate goal, these elements “There has been a careful and manipulative hand-picking of all positions held by people,” he said.
Omokri explained that “in addition to the Ministry of Defence, Nigeria has 20 security and law enforcement agencies including the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Nigerian Army, the Nigerian Air Force, the Nigerian Navy, the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of Defense.” . Ministry of National Services, Nigerian Intelligence Agency, and Defense Intelligence Agency.
“The paramilitary groups are: Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Customs Service, Nigeria Correctional Service (formerly known as Nigeria Prisons), National Drug Enforcement Agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Federal Road Safety Commission, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence. the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission, the Nigeria Financial Intelligence Service, the Federal Fire Service, and, unknown to most Nigerians, the National Youth Service, a reserve force that is called up in emergencies.
He said police officers in the South-West only command the Nigerian Army, Police, Customs, DSS and EFCC, noting that this is contrary to the lopsided situation that exists.
The former presidential aide said, “If that is what they claim, then what they are saying is that the leadership of the immediate past government led by President Muhammadu Buhari, the executive, legislative and judicial branches, and the head of the federal government were together. What would you say?” he said. , Chief of Staff to the President, Head of the Ministry of Defense, Attorney General of the Federation, Army, Police, NSA, DSS, NIA, DMI, DIA, NPS, NCS, NIS, EFCC were all Northern Muslim men at the same time?
“The fact remains that our defense architecture is balanced under President Tinubu. That is why, for the first time in eight years, we have someone from the Southeast as a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Chief of Naval Staff Emmanuel Ikechukwu・Major General O’Gara.
Regarding the appointment of new ministers, Omokri argued that it is constitutionally impossible for the president to ignore the Federal Personality Commission Act, regardless of party affiliation, as ministers must be appointed from each state.
He pointed out that the claim that the President appointed 11 ministers from the South-West is false as the representative of Kwara State is a Yoruba but from the North-Central region.
Omokri said: “Northern Nigeria has a majority of the ministers in the current cabinet, including what are arguably the most important ministries: the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Police.”
He said the President was systematically reforming the governance structure, explaining that Nigeria would deepen federalism from next month as local governments would directly receive federal account allocations.
According to him, “Such reforms include removing oil receipts from the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and handing them over to the Central Bank of Nigeria; As with other reforms such as abolition, cross-border smugglers who smuggle illicit sources of income have become powerful enemies of the Tinubu regime. These carpetbackers are an illegal and undemocratic regime. He will stop at nothing to try to instigate a change.
“They went to barracks to recruit soldiers and tried to do so in failed angry days of protests that flooded some parts of Nigeria with foreign flags. Now that these false flag actions have failed, , their next antics will be to gas Nigerians about the so-called Yoruba domination, a domination that exists only in their jaundiced imaginations and intrigues.”
