The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won 13 chairpersonships across local governments in Nasarawa State in the recently concluded elections.
The results were announced by Chairman Barr of the Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission (NASIEC). Ayuba Usman at the commission’s headquarters in Lafia, the state capital, on Sunday evening.
The November 2 election spanned 13 local governments and 147 constituencies. APC won the chairperson seat in all 13 local governments, while also dominating the city council seats, winning 140 out of 147 wards.
The Social Democratic Party (SDP) secured 5 wards and the Zenith Labor Party (ZLP) won 2 wards.
A detailed breakdown of chair performance by local authority is as follows:

bar. Usman praised the peaceful conduct of the elections and expressed gratitude to voters for their efforts in strengthening democracy at the grassroots.
He stressed that the success of the elections was a result of the engagement of key stakeholders, including the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) and security agencies, which contributed to the orderly conduct of the electoral process.
He noted that the elections reflected a high level of confidence in the electoral process, noting that 14 political parties participated. He said the use of technology has further streamlined the process, ensuring efficiency and transparency.
ZLP won two seats in Doma Local Assembly, while SDP won four seats in Nasarawa-Egon Local Assembly and one seat in Keffi Local Assembly. bar. Mr. Usman reaffirmed NASIEC’s commitment to upholding democratic values and ensuring fair and credible election results.
