Olusola Ebiseni, the Labor Party candidate in the Ondo State governorship election, has ridiculed Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the upcoming election, saying the two have little to offer the people of Ondo State. Ta.
Recall that Mr. Ayedatiwa is the flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) while Mr. Agboola Ajayi is the PDP candidate for the upcoming polls scheduled for November 16, 2024.
Meanwhile, Mr. Ebiseni previously participated in the PDP gubernatorial primary and came third with 99 votes.
Mr. Ajayi served as deputy governor under former governor Rotimi Akeredolu from 2017 to 2021.
In June 2020, Mr. Ajayi left the APC to join the PDP citing “irreconcilable differences” with Mr. Akeredolu, resulting in the appointment of Mr. Aiyedatiwa as his successor.
But Mr Ebiseni appeared on Channels TV’s Morning Brief and urged voters to prioritize candidates’ qualifications over their party affiliation.
He claimed that APC candidates Ayedatiwa and Ajayi were “lacking in substance” and that he was the best candidate for governorship.
“It is not a national party crisis that decides who becomes the governor of each state,” the politician said.
“It is the pedigree of the candidate and the track record of the party when they were in power. Remember, APC took over from the Labor Party in 2017.
“After eight years, ask the people of Ondo State what APC has brought to the table. The two candidates of PDP or APC are both APC candidates. In this election, PDP has no candidate. .”
Mr. Ebiseni called Mr. Ajayi “the so-called PDP candidate” and pointed out that Mr. Ajayi was Mr. Akeredolu’s deputy and Mr. Ayedatiwa was also a former deputy.
“I was shocked to hear the story of both of them. They are part of the same family and they have nothing to offer the people of Ondo State,” he said.
Naija News reports that Mr. Ebiseni is a well-known figure in Ondo politics, having served on the committee three times and as a delegate at the 2014 national conference.
