The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has claimed that Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed wants Umaru Damagumu removed as the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) because he has not complied with its demands.
The former Rivers State governor described Mr. Muhammad as a traitor, alleging that he conspired with others to retain the chairmanship of the PDP Governors Forum in the Northern Region.
According to Naija News, Wike made the remarks during a media briefing held at his office in Abuja on Wednesday.
The FCT Minister said: “We have never seen anything worse in the PDP, especially in terms of the leadership of the Chairman of the Governors Forum. It is not about talk, it is about action.
“How do you know someone is a traitor? When Mr. Tambuwal finished chairing the PDP Governors Forum, we were always alternating between North and South.
“However, Bala and others conspired to go to Bauchi and retain the chairmanship of the Northern PDP Governors Forum.
“Of course he knows that none of that would have happened if I had been governor. He was successful because of what I would call infantile ambition. To be a leader, you have to make sacrifices and inspire people. You need the ability to cheer up.
“As an opposition party, the people will judge whether you are serious about taking over. It’s not about speaking to criticize or appearing on national television. It’s not about insulting people.
“As chairman of the Governors Forum, how did he organize his colleagues to fund the party?
“How has he made the party efficient through the National Working Committee? How has he ensured that it is ready to take over power from the ruling party in Ondo State?
“It was Bala who said Damagun should complete Ayu’s term. When we went to the last NEC meeting and issues arose, we sent people to court for interpretation of the party constitution. was a rose.
“When Damagun did not comply with his demands, he started saying that Damagun must leave.”
