Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the ongoing Ondo State governorship election, is leading by a wide margin as the counting of results nears completion.
According to figures released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Ayedatiwa received 301,113 votes, comfortably ahead of his closest rival, Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who trailed with 97,051 votes. It exceeds that.
The huge margin of 204,062 votes highlights APC’s dominance in the elections so far.
Results from the three local government areas (LGAs) are yet to be released as final collation continues at the INEC office in Akure, the state capital.
The collation exercise, which began at 12:35am, is being supervised by the Returning Officer, Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Lokoja, Professor Olayemi Akinwunmi.
