The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described Nigeria’s former presidential candidate and former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, as a selfless leader.
The party added in a statement on Monday that Atiku is a humble and people-oriented leader.
Through a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Debo Ologunagba, the PDP wished Atiku a happy birthday and said he had dedicated his energies, resources and capabilities to the development of Nigeria.
The party wished the former Vice President further wisdom, sound health and strength.
“The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced that Atiku Abubakar of GCON (Wazirin Adamawa), one of the founders of the great party, is the former Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the PDP presidential candidate for the 2023 presidential election. Congratulations to His Excellency. Today is his birthday.
“Atiku Abubakar is a selfless, caring, humble and people-oriented leader. A unifier who continues to dedicate his mind, energy, resources and capabilities towards the unity, stability and economic development of our dear country. , an outspoken politician, democrat, and world-class politician.
“The PDP and the Nigerian people at large have been deeply affected by the Obasanjo/Atiku-led PDP, especially from 1999 to 2007. We continue to appreciate Mr. Atiku Abubakar’s achievements in the service of our country during his administration as Chairman of the National Economic Council, during which our country achieved unparalleled and massive achievements in all sectors. We will achieve national productivity and become one of the fastest growing economies in the world,” Ologbondiyan said in a statement.
He added that due to Mr. Atiku’s leadership qualities, Nigerians voted for him in large numbers in the 2019 and 2023 elections, but undemocratic forces prevented Mr. Atiku from assuming the presidency.
“His outstanding leadership qualities earned him and our party overwhelming support and large numbers of votes from Nigerians from all walks of life in the 2019 and 2023 presidential elections, but unfortunately the mission has been overthrown by undemocratic forces, resulting in the current dire situation in our country.
“Our party stands for his unrelenting passion and quest for good governance, economic prosperity, accountability, fairness, justice, impartiality, and strict adherence to the demands of the rule of law and the tenets of democracy. “We commend Atiku Abubakar for his resilience as a leader of the people.”The overall interest of the well-being of all Nigerians.
“On this auspicious occasion, the PDP family prays to Almighty Allah to grant Atiku Abubakar greater wisdom, sound health and strength in his service to our beloved motherland and humanity.
