Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has called on residents to reject the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the next governorship election in Osun State.
Makinde added that what the APC did in Edo and Ondo during the governorship election would soon be revealed.
Naija News reports that the Oyo State Governor made this submission yesterday during the commissioning of the completion of the duplication of the Roundabout Proving Ground and Ilesa Garage Road in Osogbo, Osun State.
He added that all is not over with the Edo and Ondo governorship elections and that his political party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), intends to challenge the results in court and take back its responsibilities.
Makinde commended Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State for putting aside political differences and completing projects started by his predecessor.
“After the Edo and Ondo elections, someone was distracted. They said they were coming for Osun and Oyo states. Show them the pepper.”
“I want to assure them (APC) that the game in Edo and Ondo is not over yet. We are challenging the results in court. We are law-abiding members of the party. , I believe whatever they did will be exposed,” Makinde said.
Speaking during the commissioning, Governor Adeleke said the project was a fulfillment of the promise he inherited from his predecessor not to abandon the project.
“Based on the action plan, our administration completed several projects across various sectors. Within 100 days, we completed the dualization of the road between Osogbo and Ikirun, complete with solar street lights. It has been available ever since.
“We have extended the inherited reconstruction of the Iwo-Oshogbo road to include the duplication of major internal roads within Iwo. We have completed several abandoned projects within Osun State University, including;
“Apart from our determination to complete inherited projects, the roads we are about to commission have important implications for our economic well-being and public security. There have been reports of multiple fatalities and traffic congestion on this road.In fact, during campaigning, many voters requested that the road be completed.”
The governor directed security agencies and road safety authorities to enforce safety regulations on the roads and asked the Ministry of Works to consider the possibility of installing speed breakers if necessary.
