The Labor Party (LP) has condemned the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmoud Yakubu, for praising the conduct of Ghana’s presidential election.
Naija News reports that in a video clip on Sunday, Yakubu praised the Ransuru conduct of Ghana’s elections and pointed out lessons for Nigerian politicians.
Reacting in an interview with Punch, the National Spokesperson of the Labor Party, Obiola I.I. Ikubu, supports President Bola Tinubu. He accused Nigerians of manipulating the 2023 presidential election and asked Nigerians to apologize.
He insisted that INEC bosses should learn from Ghana and not the other way around.
He pointed out that there were no stories of ballot box snatching and glitches in Ghana’s presidential elections.
Ifoh said that although the LP had moved on from what happened in 2023, “it is unfortunate that the INEC chairman is speaking when he should be the one to learn from Ghana in this case.
“He was the architect of what Nigerians are suffering today.
“He owes Nigerians an apology. We didn’t hear about election violence, box snatching or any glitches in it (in Ghana). People spoke through their votes. Their votes were counted and Ghanaians are happy with that.”
