The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared that plans by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi to form an alliance against President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 will fail. did.
Naija News reports that the Atiku Municipality Public Relations Officer, Mr. Paul Ibe, in an interview on Channels Television, said that his principal and the Labor Party’s Mr. Peter Obi have learned a lesson from the last general election and have rejected the incompetence of the APC. He said they would unite to overthrow the ignorant government.
He said the combined votes of Peter Obi and Atiku amounted to 12 million, which would have been enough to stop President Tinubu and prevent hardships inflicted on Nigerians.
However, in an interview with Punch, APC national communications director Bala Ibrahim laughed at the idea of the two opposition leaders to block Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, describing it as “a dream come true”.
Ibrahim said any possibility of an opposition party in crisis could not seriously threaten the ruling party.
he said: “It was a dream come true. No one in the world would want to add up the total votes cast in an election and use it to overturn the winner’s vote. No! We wouldn’t do that. Smart winners always use that to create rifts within the opposition because each candidate is looking to win.”
