Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has commended the move by some political allies of former Governor Emeka Ihedioha to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He praised their political foresight, courage and wisdom and described them as political magnets.
Prominent defectors include Chief Justice Chris Okeworonu, a close ally and strong supporter of Mr. Ihedioha. He served as chief of staff during his seven-month stint as governor. Other defectors include Hon Chuma Nnaji, former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives and 2015 PDP deputy governorship candidate, and Hon Jonas Okeke, PDP candidate for Okigwe South.
Welcoming the members at the party’s state secretariat over the weekend, Uzodimma said he understood what it meant to take such a bold decision, adding: “The real political class in Imo State “I’m not surprised because I want to move the party forward regardless.” A political tendency. ”
He further said: “We must commend the wisdom and courage in taking this decision. I welcome you all to our party. The real stakeholders and political class of Imo State have come together once again. This is a new hope, a new program, a new agenda.”
The governor used the opportunity to brief old and new party members on the laudable plans and projects that will boost people traffic to Imo and put the state on the path of future development, and to clear doubts from new entrants. He said there was no room. They have leveraged their extensive backgrounds in the public and private sectors to add value to the state.
He stated his dream to fully connect Imo State through a road network that would traverse the three senatorial zones and make the people of all zones accessible to each other in record time.
The governor condemned the situation where those claiming to be Imo leaders are secretly supporting and even funding insecurity in the state with the killing of innocent people, all in the name of politics. .
