All Progressives Congress (APC) must pay 50 million to obtain interest-style nominations and expressions for applicants who wish to run under the party’s flag for future gubernatorial elections in Anambra state. We have announced that we must do so.
Naija News reports that the Anambra State gubernatorial election is scheduled for November 8th, 2025.
The party also issued a comprehensive timetable for the primary election, detailing the important activities and dates leading up to the election.
According to a schedule signed by the party’s national organisation chief Suleiman Argungu, female candidates and individuals with disabilities will have to pay 10 million for the interest expression, but the nomination form will be provided free of charge.
Additionally, young politicians, ages 25-40, can benefit from a 50% reduction in the nomination form fee, but will have to pay for the expression of the form of interest.
Argungu highlighted that the candidate must obtain the form at the APC National Headquarters of Wuse II, Abuja from February 10th to 25th.
He revealed that the APC has announced a schedule of gubernatorial election activities following the relevant provisions of the Nigerian Constitution and Election Act, announced by the Independent National Election Commission (INEC).
According to the timetable, nominations, expressions of interest and delegation forms will be sold from February 10th to 25th, with a filing deadline of February 26th.
Candidate screenings are planned for March 7th and 8th, with results being published on March 10th.
The representative meeting is scheduled for April 2nd, with the primary election being held on April 5th.
The results of the primary election will be ratified on April 6th, and the list of nominated candidates will be submitted to the National Labor Commission on April 8th.
The APC campaign is scheduled to officially launch on June 11th and will mark the end of the campaign period, culminating in the grand finale on November 6th.
The APC primary is expected to be fiercely contested as many candidates have already expressed interest in competing for the party’s nomination.
The 50 million admission fees have sparked debate among party members and expressed concern that it could hinder grassroots politicians’ involvement.
As INEC announced on November 8, 2025 as the date of the Anambra Governorship Election, APC is preparing for a lively campaign season in the Southeast region.
