Former Senate minority leader Philip Adda dismissed speculation that he plans to flee from the People’s Democrats (PDP) to the All-Progressive Congress (APC).
Rumors have been raised that Naija News suggested that Aduda, who represented the Federal Capital Territories (FCT) in the 8th and 9th Senate, was joining the APC and preparing to manage the party structure of the FCT. .
Addressing the FCT PDP state executives during the meeting, Aduda denied the report and emphasized that he had never considered leaving the PDP to the APC.
“I’ve been overrunning the phone over the past four days of leaving PDP to APC and taking over the structure, but that’s not true.
“How can a landlord leave his home and become a tenant of another person’s home? That’s ridiculous.
“So, I want to make it clear before the state PDP executives of the FCT that I am not going anywhere. I will stay in the PDP,” declared Adda.
Aduda, an ally of Nyesom Wike’s FCT Minister, reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the PDP, saying the party is a viable opposition force across the FCT and across Nigeria.
He assures party members that the PDP will send candidates for the 2027 presidency election and other contests on February 21, 2026.
In response, FCT PDP Chairman Ismaila Mohammed Yenche praised Aduda for his loyalty and dedication to keeping the party strong in the FCT.
He urged party members and supporters to ignore the rumors of the asylum and focus on preparing for the 2026 Regional Council election.
