The Rivers State High Court, sitting in Port Harcourt, issued a temporary injunction halting the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) North-South Zone Meeting scheduled to be held in Calabar, Cross River State on Saturday.
The court ordered that the sash parliament, which was principally sided by Judge Gv Obomamu, should not be made in either the Cross River or elsewhere in Nigeria as the decision to motion for notification is pending.
The ruling follows the lawsuit filed by PDP members from Tony Ejog’s 3rd district of Etche Local Government Area, as well as the case of nkoro, former vice-chairman of the Southeast PDP.
Defendants named in the suit include Dan Obi, the PDP and the National Vice-Chair of the North and Southern Parties of the PDP.
In a copy of the order issued Friday, the judge suppressed the defendant, its agents and privacy to hold legislation on February 22 or any other date until a request for notice is decided.
The current situation maintained
The court directed all parties to maintain the status quo as of February 20, awaiting further hearings.
Additionally, the claimant was given permission to provide the defendant with origin and subsequent processes through alternative means.
This involves pasting documents into the gates of the headquarters of the PDP south-south belt in Road 1, Plot 2A, Presidential Housing Area, the new GRA, Port Harcourt, or publishing orders in widely read national newspapers.
