The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Execution Committee (NEC) will deliberate on several key issues, including account audits, performance reviews of the party’s national chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, and a briefing for the recently concluded off-cycle elections. . In Edo and ondo states.
According to documents reviewed by Punch, the conference agenda includes discussions on the party’s 2025 budget proposal, preparations for the upcoming gubernatorial election in Anambra, dues payments by federal appointees and APC lawmakers, and ongoing and presentations on the newly established progressive research institute.
A source within the party’s secretariat said, “No unusual is a tea party, where nothing is discussed. It also thinks it might also tell the official sign-off of the rumored exit of the state president, Dr. Abdurahi Gandue. That’s true for people in the media who are doing this. That doesn’t happen.
“It’s about doing all justice and avoiding the pressure that El Rufai is trying to do politics. Usually, as you have correctly observed, APC leadership reviews the power that they are given to them. To this end, we should ask that NEC meetings be held at least in each quarter.
“Unlike the last leadership in which (Salif) Lukman refused to give former chairman Abdullahi Adam a breathing space, this current NWC has little or nothing to fight.”
The conference marks the first major gathering of APC leaders and stakeholders since Ganduje took on leadership in the national working committee.
Ganduje and party secretary of state Sen. Ajibola Basil were officially ratified at the final NEC conference held at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja on August 3, 2023.
The APC chair had called for the long-standing National Caucus and NEC meetings, which were initially postponed last year, to be held next Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively.
A leaked memo signed by Basiru revealed that the National Caucus Conference is scheduled to be held at the President’s Villa Banquet Hall on February 25th, and the NEC Conference will be held at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja .
Vice President Kasim Shettima and former President Muhammadu Buhari will also be present at the high-level meeting, which is expected to be chaired by President Bora Tinubu.
