Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has fled Nigeria on suspicion of attempted assassination following his involvement in the case of late Afrobeat singer Mohabado.
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) understands that the actor has always stood by his demand for justice for Mokhvad, who passed away under mysterious circumstances on September 12, 2023.
Fabiyi said in an Instagram post that he had to take the next available flight out of Nigeria because he was marked for assassination.
He added that he had reported the matter to the appropriate authorities.
He said: “I was marked for assassination, so I had to jump on the next available plane. For the first time in my life, I knew they were trying to take my life.
“I have given everything about me to the police and I just hope nothing happens to the sources I mentioned.
“CCTV has to be investigated, phone forensics is a must. It’s not that I don’t want to be killed, I won’t run for anything if I’m going to be killed.
“But because I know that if they take my life, it will cause serious chaos and the case will be called off. Dear Nigerians, I don’t know where we go from here, but 80% It’s safe.”
In another video that is currently going viral, Fabiyi revealed that he survived an assassination attempt a few days ago.
“I escaped assassination two days ago. They wanted to take part in the protests to kill me tonight,” he added.
“If they had killed me tonight, they would have buried me tomorrow. They will kill me without mercy because I am fighting for justice.
“I’m not collecting money from anyone. I’m just doing it myself. I can’t use my body as a guinea pig, so I ran for my life.”
