Nollywood veteran Fred Amata has accused his estranged daughter, Agatha, of walking her daughter Stephanie down the aisle when she was still alive.
The estranged wife of actor Agatha Amata on Wednesday shared a video of her low-key wedding ceremony in which she strolls her daughter down the aisle, a ritual usually performed by the father of the bride, TheNewGuru.com (TNG) reports. Shared on Instagram page.
Agatha expressed how happy and proud she was of her daughter and prayed for God’s blessings on her daughter as she begins a new chapter with her husband.
Veterans were also conspicuously absent from the ceremony.
Reacting to his daughter’s wedding, the actor launched a lengthy rant on Facebook, describing Agatha’s actions as “abhorrent” and adding that it was a “challenge to tradition”.
Despite the blessings in advance, the famous actor wondered why the date and time of the wedding were hidden from him.
The grieving father also spoke out about his failed marriage and how he made his ex-wife Agatha successful, especially by creating the talk show Inside Out with Agatha that made her famous. He also talked about what he claimed.
The actor also claimed that Agatha misused his name, reputation and intellectual property for personal gain.
The couple divorced in 2005 due to irreconcilable differences.

For over 20 years, I remained silent, refraining from commenting on my failed marriage, admitting to being a “good wife” in the hopes that the wounds would heal and reconciliation would be possible. But for 20 years, that “good wife” beat me, tarnished my reputation, belittled my accomplishments, and used my name for her own selfish gain.
It was over 25 years ago that I came up with the unique idea of “Inside Out with Agatha.” This is a talk show with six informed and opposing viewpoints, represented by people with oratory skills (currently male, currently female). We were going to see Regina Askia’s talk show and Agatha wanted to be a talk show host. I told her, “Don’t worry, I’ll figure something out and you’ll be like Oprah Winfrey.”
And I did. Be creative. I was a dedicated creator who put in my blood and sweat to create and deliver a concept that had never been done in Nigeria before. Except for six episodes of a similar and perhaps less engaging “MEE to you” or some such show. The late May Ellen Ezekiel, who was married to R.M.D. This program has stood the test of time and has the potential to bring bread to the table of young marriages.
This program is very versatile and is still valid today. Agatha’s Inside Out was an instant hit. The genius angle, production values, production approach, lighting and production design were so fascinating that I couldn’t resist them. I am at the peak of my career as a director and have assembled a production crew that is among the best in early Nollywood. The TV drama was the main attraction. Because we dared to stand out from the crowd of emerging Nollywood directors.
Kingsley Ogoro, my friend’s brother and nemesis, will lead the way. I admire Nollywood greats Zac Orji, Okey Bakassi, Sunny Makdon, Francis Onwochie, Emeka Ossai, Zik Zulu Okafor, Francis Dulu, Prince Jade Kosoko and many others who look up to me. We hired some friends and asked them to help us with the first episode. Soon, everyone wanted to be a part of Inside Head.
I risked all my resources, my friends, my goodwill, my loyalty, my family, my extended family, my wife and connections to get a big production, some of the best people in the studio involved. Tunde Kelani, Wale Fanu, Tade Ogidan, Tunde Oloyede, Pat Nebo, Uzor Okpeche, Simi Opeoluwa, Opa Williams, the late Chico Ejiro and many others to ensure the failure of the program. He cooperated with us. I also took a gamble on my first challenge of becoming president of DGN. Don Pedro Obaseki and Matias Obahiagbon testify.
Through the influence she wielded and the contacts and contacts she gathered, the “Good Wife” soon built an empire without an emperor. She slandered my name to gain favor and contracts. Inside Head is the source of all of The Good Wife’s wealth. My genius, my sweat, my vision, and for 20 years, I swallowed it. As The Good Wife gained momentum, my reputation declined. So today, The Good Wife is a millionaire because of my brainchild, but it’s not my credit.
There are no rewards or royalties. But a good wife is good. Let raising my children be my royalty. The Good Wife, who was born in Ebu Delta state, is emboldened by her success without relying on her creator, and has attracted a series of ire. She destroyed the company we had formed and registered a new company to own the program. She sued for divorce and won it, but 20 years later she still holds a grudge and is willing to take extreme measures to tarnish my image.
But understand this, “Good Wife” Agatha, everything you have ever had and will ever have is because of “Inside Head.” It is my brainchild and my intellectual property. You haven’t put the nail in the coffin yet for me to sit back and ignore the billions you’ve amassed and be indifferent to your vast wealth. A “good wife” will dare to preserve tradition.
She challenged abhorrent acts, embraced taboos, looked Africa in the eye and manipulated her daughter and her husband, cheated on her lovers, and walked her daughter down the aisle to give Stephanie to her husband. I can’t stay silent anymore. It’s time to speak up. This is an abomination. This is taboo. Nowhere in the world, no where in Africa, no where in Delta State and no where in our homeland, a woman cannot give up her child in marriage, especially if the father is alive.
Especially if the father is willing and able. It’s even worse if the father is in the same city. What kind of malice drives a woman who tries to lure her daughter into marriage by trashing her ex-husband? What would it take to hide the date and time from a father who had already given his blessing? Even if father and daughter were in the same city of London and the daughter forgot. Isn’t this the setting for “The Good Wife”?
Good people, netizens, well-wishers, haters, and influencers. What options are left for a heartbroken father? How do you throw out the baby with the bathwater? Will a “good wife”, blinded by wealth and anger, abandon her loved ones forever just because she jeopardized her father’s blessings on his daughter? They came to me in London. As the photo shows, Aaron brought me a drink as a coke as a father. What kind of “good wife” is it that does something like this that just gives a bad impression to the man?
As of press time, Agatha has not responded to her ex-husband’s allegations.
