Rabiu Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in the 2023 elections, has declared his party to be the fastest growing political party in Nigeria.
Naija News reports that the national leadership of the NNPP disclosed this during the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held in Abuja on Monday, highlighting the numerous challenges they have been facing.
He expressed confidence in the upward trajectory of the NNPP and appreciated the dedication of its supporters in positioning the party as a viable alternative in the Nigerian political landscape.
Mr Kwankwaso also said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was “dead” and there were many concerns within the party.
He also criticized the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), highlighting the disconnect between its leadership and the realities faced by Nigerians, including increasing security, poverty and hunger.
“Despite all the challenges, I am happy to say today that our party is the fastest growing political party in the country,” he said during a visit to Katsina State to inaugurate the state house. So I said that the two major political parties, especially the PDP, are dead and there are so many concerns within the PDP.
“When I made that statement, I’m sure many of them were not aware of what was happening today, that the party was being shattered. Even if they didn’t understand, I believe they would now agree with us all that the party is over.
“The APC today sees its leaders in the air and the entire country, the people of this country, on the ground.
“At that level, whether we believe we’re doing well or not, all of us, especially the voters of this country, we think we should all be doing well, especially when we look at issues of security and the level of poverty in this country. I believe that the performance is very poor in this country and of course the hunger problem that we are witnessing in this country. ”
