Abia State Labor Party (LP) leader Chidi Moses Onuoha has blamed the poor performance of his party’s MPs at the federal and state levels.
Mr Onuoha said most of the Labor MPs at the state and federal level, who were elected on the basis of the popularity of 2023 presidential candidate Peter Obi, have failed to provide good governance to the people.
He noted that Governor Alex Otti is performing well in Abia State, but the members are relaxed. In an interview with Daily Post on Monday, the LP boss said it will not be business as usual in 2027.
“Lawmakers who seek to profit from the popularity of Governor Alex Otti and Mr. Peter Obi will fail miserably in 2027. I’m going to apply it.
“You cannot use our structures to win elections and then abandon those who voted for you or hide from us. Many of those who had high hopes will be disappointed, because we are only working for a governor who has a proven track record, not a failed one.
“Peter Obi and Governor Alex Otti remain popular because of their track record, but if they hope to win re-election, lawmakers must work convincingly to attract voters to life-saving projects,” Onuoha said. .
