Pate said this in Bauchi on Friday at the groundbreaking ceremony for MedServ’s 10 oncology and diagnostic center at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital.
According to him, the President is making significant investments in the health sector to ensure that all Nigerians have access to quality health services across the country.
“The president clearly wants to transform this country. He wants to change the direction of this country, and we’re fortunate that he chose health as one of the areas.
“In just one year, he has accomplished something in the health field that has never been done in the history of this country.
“He has launched a number of initiatives and built on what MedServ has been doing. We are making groundbreaking progress on 10 major infrastructure projects.
“Within 12 months, we will start opening across Nigeria.
“There are 6,000 centers being run by the Nigeria Government Investment Authority (NSIA) and I think they will be completed and opened within 12 to 18 months as funding is available,” he said. Ta.
He also said Tinubu had retrained 120,000 frontline health workers, adding that 10,000 of them were retrained across the country, including Bauchi.
Also, the Managing Director of MedServ, Dr. Tolulope Adewole, said that from 2020 to date, MedServ has seen 131,000 patients at its diagnostic center, NSIA Kano, with evidence testimonies.
He explained that close to 700,000 individual tests have been carried out at MedServ’s diagnostic centres, adding that centers will also be established in Umuahia and Abia.
“We hope to start this project in Bauchi within the next 12 to 15 months, but the door to this project will never be closed and patients in Bauchi will be added to that number and what will happen next? Will testify what happens.
“All we do is equity, access, and quality, and our goal is to demonstrate equitable access.
“All lives are equal and you will receive the same quality of service here that you would receive anywhere else,” he said.
Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, in a speech said his administration would soon disburse N25 billion to the state specialized hospital to complement the health services of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital.
He commended Mr. Tinubu for deepening inclusion and thanked him for incorporating Mr. Bauchi into the “New Hope” agenda.
“We want to end poverty and anger, and this kind of work reduces anger as well.
“On behalf of myself and all the governors of the various states of the federation where this program will actually be implemented, we are happy with the federal government,” he said.
