Tristan Stubbs scored his first unbeaten one-day international century as South Africa defeated Ireland by 174 runs in Abu Dhabi, sealing the series victory.
The Proteas won Wednesday’s opener by 134 runs and go into Monday’s final match with a 2-0 lead.
South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first, with opener Ryan Rickleton and captain Themba Bavuma providing a solid foundation.
Bavuma (35) left with an elbow injury at 68-0, and Rickleton was sent off in the 40th minute, leaving the team at 78-1.
Stand-in skipper Rassie van der Dussen added 35 runs while Kyle Veraine and Stubbs scored 103 runs for the third wicket.
Stubbs followed up his 79 on Wednesday with another fine knock, scoring 92 with Wian Mulder (43) to help South Africa post a total of 343-4.
Ireland needed to respond and get off to a strong start, but the early sending-offs of Andrew Balbirnie and captain Paul Stirling left them 7-2.
Curtis Campfer (17) and Harry Tector (20) led Ireland to 44-2, while Lizard Williams took two wickets from two balls to put South Africa firmly in the lead.
Mark Adair (21) and Gavin Hoey (23) put up some resistance before a brave final wicket stand of 52 between Graham Hume (21) and Craig Young (29 not out) .
Ireland took 3-36 with Williams dismissed for 167, with Bjorn Fortuyn and Lungi Ngidi taking two wickets each.
