South Africa has regained its position as the best-value long-haul holiday destination for UK travelers, according to a new report.
Costs for visitors from the UK have fallen by 12% since autumn 2023 due to falling domestic prices and a weaker South African rand, according to Post Office Travel Money.
This makes Cape Town the best value of the 32 resorts and cities analyzed in the annual survey for the first time since 2018.

Typical prices include £1.63 for a filter coffee, £1.81 for a bottle of local beer and £33.31 for a three-course dinner for two with a bottle of house wine.
Tokyo, Japan was the second most cost-effective long-haul destination, followed by Hoi An, Vietnam, which ranked first last year.
Sydney, Australia, meanwhile, was the most expensive, with tourist essentials costing nearly three times as much for British tourists as Cape Town.
