In his inaugural address in Abuja, the newly appointed Chairman of the association, Dr. Steve Ogidan, emphasized that strategic deployment of technological innovation is essential to weathering Nigeria’s difficult economic climate.

He described the Dangote refinery as a vital project, stressing that the stable supply of locally produced crude oil will reduce fuel prices by up to 35% and reduce the high costs associated with importing refined oil. Ogidan also advocated the rehabilitation of Nigeria’s refineries as a strategy to reduce Nigeria’s dependence on imported fuel.
