The Chairman, House Committee on Petroleum Resources, Alhassan Ado-Doguwa, has apologized to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State over his recent comments praising Governor Ademola Adeleke.
Naija News understands that Mr. Ado Dogwa, the APC chief from Kano State, recently represented the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, at the Ede Day celebrations where he spoke on behalf of Governor Adeleke on the development of Osun State. He reportedly praised the progress.
However, Osun APC expressed its displeasure in a statement by its spokesperson, Kola Olabisi, accusing Ado-Doguwa of bringing down the APC.
The lawmaker noted the concerns of the APC in a statement on Tuesday, assuring that loyalty and support for the party remains undivided, adding that the days of the PDP in the state are numbered.
While he apologized, he accused the PDP of distorting his comments for political gain.
He said: “I was quoted out of context. To be honest, the PDP media team in Osun exploited my joke to attack our party, APC, in the context of a local political struggle.
“It was certainly very unfortunate. They took my innocent comment and used it for cheap political gain.”
However, he said: “I would like to extend my sincere and unreserved apology to the APC family in Osun State. My deepest and sincere apologies. By the grace of God, the days of the PDP in Osun State are numbered. 2026 Our party will bounce back in the state, InshaAllah.
“I will always remain a loyal and proud member of Africa’s largest political party, the APC. As a founding member of the APC, I am the chief promoter of the party not only in Kano but across the country.”
