A party source who confirmed the meeting with Thecable said, “Aregbesola and Kwankwaso have completed their marathon meeting in Lagos and have developed a strategy for the 2027 election.”
The meeting takes place a few days after Alegbesora’s political group, Omoluabi, has ended the APC and cited internal alienation and unfair treatment.
Earlier this week, Omoluabi’s progressive spokesman Absesde Olwasen said the group left the APC due to ouster, unfair suspension and ouster of key leaders without a legitimate process, according to Naija News. I stated.
Following this development, the Osun State APC chapter officially expelled Aregbesola due to suspicions of anti-party activity.
Alegbesola, who ruled Osun State on the APC platform between 2010 and 2018, was a two-term minister under former President Muhammadu Buhari from 2015 to 2023.
However, his fallout with his successor, Governor Gboyega Oyetola and other Osun APC leaders, gradually alienated from the party’s mainstream structure.
The Alegbesora and Kwankwaso meeting are growing in waves of opposition cooperative efforts ahead of the 2027 election.
Over the past few months, several well-known politicians from various political parties have held strategic meetings to explore partnerships.

Meanwhile, Ajuji Ahmed, national chairman of the new Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP), said on Friday that the party is not currently in coalition talks but has not ruled out the possibility of a future alliance.
Kwankwaso, who challenged the 2023 presidential election based on the NNPP, is particularly involved in several high-level debates regarding opposition unification with Atiku Abubakar and other opposition heavyweights.
