Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are currently convening in Jos, Plateau State to deliberate on key governance issues that affect both the interests of the party and the state.
The party leaders are also expected to review the recent governorship elections in Edo and Ondo states where the party lost.
In his opening remarks at the meeting, the Forum Chairman and Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, reiterated the party’s dedication to providing effective governance to the people through elected governors.
He emphasized the unity of the PDP and its status as a resilient political organization that offers hope and effective governance to Nigerians.
“We are here in the Plateau and Governor Muthofan has shown us that the Plateau truly is a melting pot where everyone is welcome.
“PDP remains an indivisible political party. Despite some challenges, we are united with all organs and leaders of the party. We will work together to provide better governance opportunities for Nigerians. I will continue to do so,” Mohammed asserted.
In separate remarks, Oyo State Governor and Vice Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum, Seyi Makinde, has reaffirmed the governor’s determination to reform the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and restore it to its leadership position in Nigeria. This gave PDP supporters a sense of security. .
The meeting was attended by the governors of Zamfara, Oyo, Taraba, Adamawa, Bauchi and Plateau states, as well as representatives from Delta and Enugu states. Notably absent were the governors of Osun, Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Bayelsa states.
