Popular American rapper Lil Durk was reportedly arrested in Florida on Thursday night and charged with murder-for-hire plot.
This came just hours after five alleged members of his OTF gang were each charged with murder-for-hire and conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire.
Lil Durk (real name Dirk Banks) is being held in the Broward County Jail awaiting transfer to the U.S. Marshals.
The charges are related to the 2022 shooting death of Sabia Robinson, the cousin of rapper Quando Rondo, in Los Angeles. Authorities are linking the incident to an ongoing gang-related dispute.
Federal prosecutors say the suspects, Kayvon London Grant, DeAndre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey and Asa Houston, were involved in the 2020 attack on Chicago rapper King in Atlanta.・It is said that he was seeking revenge against Rondo, who was suspected of being involved in the Von murder case. According to WGN-TV.
Baller Alert reports that the indictment points to an elaborate scheme by OTF affiliates who reportedly placed a bounty on Quando Rondo and killed his cousin Lulu Pav in return. It is pointed out that OTF members reportedly used credit cards tied to record labels to purchase airline tickets and were able to travel from Chicago to California after learning of Quando Rondo’s whereabouts.
DJ Academics immediately broke the news on social media, posting a tweet with a picture of Lil Durk's face and the following caption: His charge is “murder for hire” for the death of Quando Rondo’s cousin, “Lulu Pub.” ”
