Mr. Paul Chukwuma, a former National Auditor of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who is eyeing the party’s ticket in next year’s Anambra State governorship election, is competing for the governorship seat in the state senatorial district. rejected claims that there was a power rotation agreement in place.
Mr Chukwuma made the assertion on Sunday during a media parley at his hometown in Nunei Umueri community in Anambra East Local Government Area.
He explained that the current zoning saga is an arrangement specific to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), which has ruled the state since 2006.
Chukwuma, a long-time APC supporter, stressed that his party has no such power-sharing formula and remains focused on handing over leadership in Anambra during the next election. He accused zoning supporters of exploiting the narrative to manipulate emotional politicians.
Mr. Chukwuma criticized the current administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo and condemned what he described as failures in governance of the state.
The APC governorship candidate expressed confidence in his ability to address these challenges and provide solutions to guide the state towards progress.
“I have served the people with a clear blueprint on how to positively transform our state. My administration has done everything possible, including providing security within the law and eliminating nepotism. We intend to avoid all elements of security and adopt a holistic approach to security issues in the state,” he said.
