A prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Mr. Gbogi Emmanuel, has formally resigned from the party.
Emmanuel submitted his resignation on Saturday, making clear his dissatisfaction with the ruling party under President Bola Tinubu.
He described the APC as a “weapon of poverty” and criticized its governance for exacerbating the economic challenges faced by Nigerians.
In his resignation, Emmanuel said his party was making life increasingly difficult for the people and highlighted the visible economic difficulties affecting the country.
“Furthermore, the APC is now seen as a weapon of mass poverty and misery, which is evident in the economic difficulties plaguing the land.
“It is my firm belief that politics is not just about winning elections, but about delivering the aid and benefits of democracy to the people we represent,” Emanuel said in the letter. .
In a copy of the letter addressed to the APC Chairman of Akoko South West Local Government Ward 6, the leader said the ruling party has also failed to uphold the true ideals of democracy and ignored loyalty among its members.
Emmanuel said the decision to withdraw from the APC was well thought out after extensive consultation, especially with his family and political stakeholders in Akoko land.
He added: “My decision stems from the party’s failure to continue to uphold the true tenets and principles of democracy, including fairness, impartiality, impartiality, rewards for loyalty, and democratic dividends to the masses.” “I have,” he added.
He noted that the party now has a new practice of “taking Paul from Peter” and termed the primary that produced the sitting governor and APC governorship candidate, Lucky Ayedatiwa, “shabby and shoddy”. I commented.
