The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders of looting the national treasury to fund lavish appetites and consumption.
According to a report in Naija News, APC National Spokesman, Felix Moruka, recently alleged that Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde is committing reckless and imprudent acts of administration at the expense of the job he was elected to do as governor. did.
Mr Molka also said PDP members should take full responsibility for their ignominious failure to address the collapse and decline of the party.
He made this comment in response to the advice of Mr. Makinde, who called on PDP members to unite against external forces that prevent a strong united opposition ahead of the 2027 elections.
However, the PDP spokesperson, Mr. Debo Ologunagba, in a statement issued on Monday, said the attack on Makinde was a sign that the APC was nervous as it felt its days were numbered because Nigerians had seen through the lies and the gross incompetence of governance. He said that this confirms that the government is sharp.
Mr. Ologunagba said that amidst deteriorating security and severe economic hardship, the APC has resorted to data manipulation, politicization of issues and verbal attacks on outspoken Nigerians.
He added that the APC government will fail and will not last beyond 2027 as the PDP and Nigerians will politically forget them.
The statement read: “The attack on Governor Makinde comes as the APC is unnerved by the knowledge that its longevity is short-lived as Nigerians have seen through its lies, deceit, falsehoods, repressive policies and gross incompetence in governance. This confirms that.”
“Governor Makinde has a remarkable track record of prioritizing the needs of the people of Oyo State as well as working with other governors elected on the platform of the PDP as seen in the numerous development projects in Oyo State. ” in the pursuit of development, preserving democracy, and resisting the APC’s plans to turn Nigeria into a one-party state.
“This is truly an attack on the sensibilities of Nigerians, with deteriorating security, severe economic hardship, widespread starvation and famine, comatose infrastructure, a crippled productive sector, a weak currency, and an unemployment rate of 36 percent. Despite the closure of millions of businesses, despair and general despondency caused by the irresponsible anti-people policies of the APC administration, the APC is living in an alternate reality and Nigeria is on the verge of “prosperity.” “We’re at the top,” he arrogantly claims.
“What is even more worrying is that while Nigerians are experiencing dire hardship, corrupt APC leaders are busy looting the national treasury to fund their lavish appetites and consumption. That’s true.
“It is therefore surprising that as the days move towards 2027, the APC is resorting to data manipulation, politicization of issues, and personal attacks against outspoken Nigerians, as seen in the riot against Governor Makinde. isn’t it.
“Governor Makinde and indeed other PDP state governors have carried out their mandate in a big way as seen in the amazing infrastructure, human capital and people empowerment projects underway in PDP states that are worthy of the admiration of Nigerians. In fact, PDP countries continue to be an oasis of development compared to APC-dominated countries.
“The APC should accept its failures and accept the fact that in the face of abysmal failures in governance, the lifespan of the APC cannot last beyond February 2027. At that time, the APC should be politicized by the PDP and Nigerians. This is where the APC device truly belongs, sent into oblivion.
