Ahead of the off-cycle Ondo State governorship election on November 16, All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, is working hard to ensure that the ruling party extends its tentacles to the South-West state. He declared that he was working on it.
Ganduje disclosed this on Sunday during a stakeholder meeting in Akure with members of the APC National Working Committee (NWC), Naija News reports.
Mr Ganduje was joined by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Mr Abiodun Oyebanji (Ekiti) and Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr Talabi Olatokunbo.
Others at the meeting included Mr. Isaac Kekemeke (APC, National Vice-Chairman (South)), Senator Ajibola Bashir (APC National Secretary), Senate Majority Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, and prominent party members from the South-West region. It will be done.
Ganduje said at the meeting that Oyo and Osun states need to be brought under APC occupation to boost support for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections.
Ganduje, while saying he would not reveal the party‘s strategy to win states in the region, urged APC leaders to keep ranks close and ensure unity among party members and supporters.
He said the Ondo State governorship election was a walkover for the APC, adding that all leaders at the national level had expressed support for the incumbent governor, Lucky Ayedatiwa.
He said: “In this geopolitical zone, we must be 100 per cent in favor of APC. Therefore, Ondo State, you must be the front line of the other two states, Oyo and Osun.
