Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, is currently leading the opposition with over 175 votes in the state gubernatorial election, as the results of the Saturday, November 16 election are being counted.
According to results released so far by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Mr Ayedatiwa received a total of 259,851 votes, beating his closest competitor Mr Agboola Ajayi. is leading by a large margin. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has secured a significant lead with 81,031 votes so far. 178,820 votes.
Naija News reports that there are only five remaining Local Government Areas (LGAs) whose results are yet to be announced.
The final reconciliation process began at around 12:35 a.m. at the INEC office in Akure, the state capital.
The returning officer of the campaign is the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Lokoja, Professor Olayemi Akinwunmi.
