Former Vice President Atik Abubakar and former President Olsegun Obasanjo met closed doors in Abeokuta, Ogun state on Monday.
The conference held at the Olsegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) relates to ongoing coalition consultations aimed at forming formidable opposition to challenge all progressive parliaments (APCs) in the upcoming elections I’m doing it.

A source familiar with the discussion discussed focusing on the coalition’s strategy ahead of the 2027 election.

Atiku has been speaking up in recent months about the need for opposition parties to join forces to challenge the APC control.
In November 2023, he called on opposition groups to form a broad coalition, arguing that Nigeria needed strong opposition to prevent the country from becoming a one-party state.
