The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) on Friday suspended Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar indefinitely after an in-depth investigation revealed that she had shared harmful news about her colleagues to a blogger.
According to a report by TheNewsGuru.com (TNG), in a statement shared through social media platforms, the film organization said that movie stars are primarily responsible for “infidelity news related to persons of high social status and Nollywood stars.” He claimed that he owed the money.
The guild announced that a disciplinary committee will be set up to determine her full punishment, adding that she will not be allowed to shoot or appear in any films during the suspension period.
The statement reads: “Following a thorough investigative report by the Special Secret Investigative Panel, set up to carry out internal underground covert investigations into the activities of some blogs/bloggers from 2022 onwards, the Panel has undertaken a painstaking two-year investigation. After Miss Halima said that Abubakar was behind all the defamatory information against our members, associates and patrons, especially the news about extramarital affairs related to high-ranking individuals in the society coming from the industry.
“Halima Abubakar is therefore suspended indefinitely by the Actors Guild of Nigeria. She will be presented to the National Disciplinary Commission to determine the full punishment. During this period of suspension, she They will not be allowed to participate in Agni activities or photography activities.
“The task force at the National/State Chapter is duly mandated to monitor compliance with the above orders as violation of the suspension provisions may lead to further disciplinary action. On behalf of the Actors Union of Nigeria, I commend the professional and smart work of the members of the Secret Inquiry Committee, but some of the women on the watch list, especially those whose names have allegedly had business with the Senate President, have recently been made public.
