Centennial Park Conservancy has announced that the Echo Chamber Music Series at the Parthenon will return for a fifth season this winter with five concerts beginning December 8th. In this series, composers and contemporary ensembles will perform chamber and choral music selected or arranged for the Parthenon’s unique reverberations. It took place at the Parthenon Naos, where they performed in front of the 42-foot-tall statue of Athena.

The ECHO’s 2024-2025 season opens with a performance of Nashville in Harmony on Sunday, Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m. The inclusive musical arts organization, which brings together people both in the LGBTQIA+ community and across the community, is celebrating 20 years of outstanding vocal performance. Their Echo Concert will feature a selection of holiday selections along with some of their favorite pieces from their 20-year mission to use music to build community and effect social change. Nashville in Harmony will cap off a memorable year with a commemorative performance at New York City’s Carnegie Hall.
On Sunday, Dec. 15, at 7:30 p.m., the SONUS Choir will return to the ECHO to perform the beloved holiday tradition “All is Calm.” This ensemble uses a signature blend of straight tones to synthesize contemporary choral repertoire and classic holiday favorites to fill the room. SONUS is known for captivating, uplifting performances that envelop listeners in transcendent waves of sound as many voices become one. The holiday program will feature well-known holiday songs, as well as multilingual music by esteemed choral composers Ola Jeiro, Morten Lauridsen and Arvo Part.
SistaStrings, the dynamic musical duo made up of sisters Chauntee Ross and Monique Ross, will make their ECHO debut on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at 7:30 p.m. With their unique blend of classical training, soulful melodies, and contemporary sounds, SistaStrings has established themselves as a powerful force within the music community. The duo was just named “Best Instrumental Artist” at the Americana Music Association’s 2023 Honors. Their amazing journey of blending classical training with a deep love of R&B, hip-hop, and gospel has inspired the likes of Joni Mitchell, Ed Sheeran, Maggie Rogers, Margo Price, Allison Russell, Jason Isbell, and more. This led to performances by artists. He is also a member of Brandi Carlyle’s touring band.
By popular demand, Rockland Strings will return to the ECHO on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at 7:30 p.m. This world-class musical collective is a community arts organization that showcases local artists to the accompaniment of a string quartet. They have performed internationally and collaborated with the likes of Kacey Musgraves and Lucy Silvas. The performance will also feature the singer-songwriter backed by the Rockland String Ensemble. Songwriter will be announced soon.
On Sunday, March 30, 2025, at 7:30 p.m., the ECHO season concludes with a special debut performance by the Fisk Jubilee Singers. The Fisk Jubilee Singers, Nashville’s world ambassadors since 1871, are an a cappella ensemble at Fisk University in Nashville, performing Negro spirituals sung by slaves before the Civil War. The original Fisk Jubilee Singers introduced the “slave song” to the world in 1871 and helped preserve this unique American musical tradition, known today as Negro spirituals. Their moving performances share this rich culture around the world and ensure that the genre remains a vibrant musical tradition today.
