Chris Moncada has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer (COO) of MNRK Music Group, effective immediately.
Based in Toronto, Mr. Moncada will oversee all day-to-day operations of MNRK, develop and execute business strategy, and drive strategic growth initiatives focused on A&R, artist development and catalog growth. He will be based in MNRK’s offices in New York, Nashville, Toronto and the United Kingdom, and will report directly to MNRK President and CEO Sean Stephenson.
Following his promotion, Moncada has several new direct reports. Scott Givens, senior vice president of rock and metal; Ted May, MD, UK/International Director. Ian “JY” Williams, Senior Director of A&R; and Sync Director Ben Chan.
Moncada joined MNRK in 2015 as GM of the MNRK label’s Last Gang label after serving in marketing, A&R and artist services roles at both Universal and Warner Music. In 2022, his scope expanded to include A&R functions for the entire MNRK Label Group, which also includes Dualtone.
“Chris has proven instrumental in securing new contracts through the contract process. His eye for talent, ear for songs, and ability to understand both MNRK’s business needs and artist concerns. has been invaluable in reshaping the organization,” Stevenson said in a statement.
