The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, has been commended for his efforts in promoting knowledge and national unity among Nigerians.
The Sultan, who is also the Chairman of Nigeria’s Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs and Chairman of the National Council of Traditional Rulers, was also praised for his fight against ignorance and terrorism.
These commendations were made in a letter signed by Dr. Abdulkadir Salman, the first Malami Ubanduma (Great Sheikh) of Ilorin Emirate, shortly after the Sultan visited Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State. conducted by scholars. north-central Nigeria.
Dr. Abdulkadir praised the Sultan’s efforts in his letter:
“The fight against ignorance and terrorism and the constant promotion of knowledge, unity and peaceful coexistence among the people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria are well known and appreciated. Your consistent commitment to good and justice is well known and appreciated. The attitude will continue to be emulated by us.”
He expressed admiration for the Sultan’s love and compassion for the common people, describing him as a pious and engaging leader of Nigeria’s Muslim community.
“I am always amazed by your passion, compassion and love for the common people. It is a reflection of the genes inherited by His Holiness from all his distinguished successors.
“This is also reflected in who you are as an engaging leader of the Muslim community in Nigeria. Since you became the Sultan of Sokoto some 20 years ago, you have been a leader in the western, eastern, southern and northern parts of Nigeria. has always shown love to the Muslim community of the country and even of other nationalities,” he said.
He thanked the Sultan for yet another historic visit to Ilorin and prayed for good health and good health so that he can continue to promote leadership that will be the envy of the Muslim community in Nigeria. I prayed to God for other things that I wanted.
