Concert band presents “Elements in Music”

The Stanly County Concert Band is excited to present “Elements in Music” at the Stanly County Agriculture and Civic Center on November 7th at 7 p.m.
This concert is a collection of music inspired by the elements of earth, wind, fire and water. There is no admission fee.
The band performs from the concert band’s repertoire, including “In the Gentle Rain,” “Incandescent Sky,” “Sailor Barnacle Bill Variations,” “Land of Healing Waters,” and “Fuego del Alma.” I’m playing some songs. “Earth, Wind and Fire in Concert”, “Cloudscape”, “Firebird (Excerpt)”, “All Earth and Air”.
Featured soloist Bob Foreman is a seasoned performer. After high school, Foreman attended the State University of New York Potsdam School of Music, earning a bachelor’s degree in music education, and went on to earn a master’s degree in brass performance from Ithaca College.
Foreman has taught instrumental and vocal music in schools in the Central New York area for 34 years.
As a freelance trombonist and member of AFM’s Local 78, Foreman has performed with a variety of bands, including the New York State Fair Big Band, the Cayugans Big Band, the Destination Blues Band, the Central New York Music Educators Wind Ensemble, and various brass instruments. performed in an ensemble. Quartet, Bones East Trombone Ensemble, Auburn Chamber Orchestra.
The Foremans moved to Salisbury in 2001. Forman continued to play trombone with the Greensboro Philharmonic, Greensboro Concert Band, Fayetteville Orchestra, Salisbury Orchestra, UNC Trombone Ensemble, Catawba Brass Quintet, and Charlotte Jazz Orchestra. He also performed as a sub in the Rowan All-Star Big Band. .
As a union musician, he performed with numerous artists including Ray Charles, Natalie Cole, Bernadette Peters, various Motown artists, and Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.
This year’s additional performance will be held at Central United Methodist Church on Dec. 5 at 7 p.m.
Participants are asked to bring food items for the Stanley Community Christian Ministries food pantry.
