Elizabeth Ajibola, Managing Director of Betty Distribution Company, highlighted the important role that the distribution value chain plays in getting products directly from manufacturers to consumers.
He noted that 50 to 60 percent of goods do not reach their intended customers due to various distribution challenges, and emphasized that collective efforts are needed to resolve this gap.
Mr. Ajibola made this remark at the company’s 5th Anniversary and Awards Ceremony held in Lagos, adding that Betty Distribution’s main goal is to create seamless connectivity across the value chain to meet demand. The aim is to ensure that consumers receive the essential goods they need from manufacturers. .

Reaffirming the company’s commitment to bridging the distribution gap across the country, Ajibola also announced plans to expand to more states.
During the event, Ajibola recognized the dedication of the staff despite the difficult economic situation and acknowledged the hard work of the staff with shields and monetary rewards. She believed their efforts were essential to the company’s continued success.

He praised Betty Distribution for taking bold risks and persevering until the business became a success. Mr. Egbe emphasized that while 60% of businesses fail within the first five years, Betty Distribution has not only survived, but is thriving and expanding.
“Africa’s future lies in Nigeria,” Mr. Egbe added. “We still have a long way to go when it comes to service-based distribution. With millions of stores in Nigeria and across Africa, there is immense potential to leverage.”
Bolaji Anifowose, Commercial Director, Olam Foods, also spoke at the event, noting that from agriculture to manufacturing, getting products to the right consumers is always a major challenge. He reiterated that 50-60% of products do not reach target customers due to distribution issues.
