Darius Rucker’s Saturday didn’t go as planned in his hometown of Charleston, South Carolina.
The country music star was actually returning to his roots after a summer tour, performing with his rock band Hootie and the Blowfish at Riverfront Revival, when he buried his face in the stage. Ta.
Want more country music news? Click here.The festival marks the end of the band’s 43-city tour, and while Rucker has previously said it may be his last, the festival is his baby. Regardless, this was supposed to be a memorable song, but the 58-year-old fell while performing the song “Alright.”
“(expletive) I’m old,” he said as he stood up.
“We’ve been doing this all summer,” he added. “I’ve never fallen, but I broke (my butt) in my hometown.”
However, fans seemed concerned because apart from Fall, Rucker appeared to be singing in a different style and tone.
One person replied, “So you’re drunk.” “That’s not how Darius Rucker normally sings.”
Another person responded: “I hope he’s ok.”
“Damn, is brother going through something or just having a bad night?" another wrote.
