Humanity activist and popular Nigerian lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, has revealed that singer and social media sensation Darlington Okoye, aka Speed Darlington, has been detained by the Nigerian Police in Abuja.
According to a report on TheNewsGuru.com (TNG), Adeyanji via his microblogging platform said on Tuesday that Darlington, aka Akpi, was arrested based on a petition written by Grammy Award-winning artist Damini Ogulu, also known as Burna Boy. It is said that X revealed this.
Akpi was arrested in Lagos last Friday and later transferred to Abuja, where he remains in custody, said his lawyer, who declined to give details of the petition.
He writes: “We just spent the last 30 minutes with Speed Darlington, who told us how he was arrested in Lagos last Friday, moved around and finally taken to Abuja, where he has been in custody ever since. We can confirm that the petition was written by Burna Boy.”
Recall, Speed Darlington questioned the authenticity of Burna Boy’s Grammy Award in a viral video, linking the A-list artist to embattled music mogul Sean Combs, known as P Diddy or Puff Daddy. I did.
Reacting to news of the disappearance on Tuesday morning, Burna Boy wrote on his X handle: “Who’s missing?”
The Nigerian Police Force has not yet released any information regarding the arrest as of press time.
