The Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday warned Governor Okpeboro against taking credit for the construction of Temboga Road.
Naija News reports that the PDP warned the governor against stealing credit for other projects initiated and completed during his predecessor, Godwin Obaseki’s tenure.
This was disclosed in a statement on Sunday by the Public Relations Secretary of the Edo PDP Caretaker Committee, Mr. Chris Nehikare.
The PDP said Mr Okpebolo’s claim that his government is delaying the construction of the 7.5km Temboga Road, among other roads in the state, is disingenuous and misleading, adding that the road・He said that it has already been constructed by the Obaseki administration.
Mr. Nehikare further charged the governor to desist from the antics of rewriting the record of the Obaseki-led government by claiming credit for the governor’s projects.
He called on Okpebolo to focus on realizing his campaign promises by initiating projects that reflect his administration’s national vision.
He said, “It is unfortunate that Senator Monday Okpeboro and the governor-elect and his administration are starting in such a bad light that they are trying to deceive the people of Edo State with false claims of starting projects that have already been completed. ” he said. the government of his predecessor, Godwin Obaseki.
“One such project is the 7.5-kilometre Temboga road initiated and constructed by the Godwin Obaseki-led government. This is completely ridiculous and reprehensible and we condemn the governor-elect and We urge the regime to immediately stop this despicable act.
“Edo people deserve better than dishonesty and deceit. Rather than engage in such shady acts to rewrite the record of Governor Obaseki’s administration, we urge Senator Okpeboro to deliver on his campaign promise to Edo. I urge them to focus on reaching the people and initiating and implementing their own projects that are in line with the vision of the administration for Edo State. They have some plans and development plans for the state.”
